Last Tuesday on the 14 of November all of the grade 6 left Mansfield Primary and rode out to Merrijig, the weather was really hot and dry there was a lot of steep hills.
We camped at Merrrijig Primary and had butter chicken for dinner and carrot cake for desert, we all went for a swim in the river.
In the morning we had pancakes for breakfast we also had to pack up camp so we could leave before Merrijig Primary arrived at school. Group 4 left first then groups 3,2 and 1. We walked past the Merrijig pub and headed south towards Round Hill.
After a few hours we stopped and had lunch once we arrived at Timber Top we had a tour of the school, it was quite big.
Finally we were able to make camp at Darlings Huts. We had pizza for dinner and brownie for desert some people slept in the hut.
In the morning we had cereal for breakfast before packing up and setting off toward Forest Creek Saddle. We had lunch in the rain, walked in the rain told riddles in the rain. When we got to camp we set up our tents in the rain, and had tortellini for dinner and chocolate chip biscuits.
On the last day we backed up our wet tents, had breakfast and headed out to West Ridge we waited for an hour in a sheltered place for a storm to pass, when the storm had pased we kept walking it was very steep in some parts and then we finally reached the summit.
The final 200 m was the most exhilarating and exhausting time of the camp, we were all proud of our selves and each other for making it to the summit of Mt Buller.
